Content Marketing Turns Working Harder Into Working Profitably

Learning the distinctions that turn working hard into working profitably takes time and energy and I was pleased to participate this past weekend in Blitz Business Success’sPut on Your CEO Hat” conference in Barrie, Ontario.

Content Marketing: A Key to Small Business Success

As one of the speakers at the event I delivered a presentation about the importance of content marketing for small business. The management of what you say about yourself and your business online is an intricate dance of story-telling and digital mastery and I was pleased to share some of what I know with a lively group of engaged participants.

Together we examined why online content is important and we did some Google-friendly exploration of the online real estate of some of the people participating in the day. We looked at how their content affects both their image and their search rankings and I went through a few “how-to’s” to help make the process a little easier. Finally, we enjoyed a great discussion about the kind of results that are possible with effective content marketing.

Effective Processes Lead to Profitable Activities

It was an honour to be part of the lineup at the Blitz conference:

Organizer Barbara Stuhlemmer put together a number of excellent sessions on developing more effective processes to help business owners make sure they spend their time on their most profitable activities.

  • Speaker Chala Dincoy, CEO of Coachtactics, took participants through an explanation of how to market effectively but gently so prospective clients feel embraced by a business owner’s message, rather than harassed by it.
  • Speaker Karen Russo delivered a session on some of the spiritual aspects of generating abundance and her explanation of the three money traps and the keys to escape them was excellent, informative and very powerful.

The weekend was full of superb insights and terrific suggestions for extending success in many areas of business life.

A Strategic Approach to Online Content Marketing

And what about next steps for your business?

I’ve been working on an ad hoc basis with internet marketing authority Tom Gray of Denver, Colorado, for several years and we’ve now developed a content marketing service program to help business owners develop content with clarity. Our focus is on helping to ensure people find your online content, read it and act on it.

With this program, Tom and I will provide you with a personalized 21-point evaluation of your content creation strategy, and give you an assessment of how effectively you express and distribute your key business marketing messages. We’ll review your use of keywords and your search engine optimization efforts and give you a one-hour, one-on-one coaching call to report on our findings and provide you with solid suggestions for achieving better results.

We’d love to put our years of content creation and marketing experience to work for your business – contact me today to find out more!
