I can remember when my first book, Shades of Teale, was published, and I finally got to hold a copy of the novel in my own two hands. It was the culmination of many years of hard work that had involved a tough climb up a steep book-writing learning curve. But it was one of the most thrilling moments of my life.

That was nearly a decade ago and as I get ready to write Book #6 I’m taking a few minutes to reflect on how much I’ve learned as an author, editor, and book coach in the intervening years. I’ve become ever more aware of the power of a well-written book to shift paradigms, change minds, move hearts, and inspire action over the past 10 years. As I’ve watched the books my clients have written find their way into the hands of their ideal readers, I’ve thrilled at the chance we as authors have to make a difference in the world.

If only we can get those books written, published, and onto virtual and physical bookshelves.

And those are the places where most of my clients get stuck.
