Do You Share These Writing Issues?

With five traditionally published books sitting proudly on my bookshelf now I can attest to how thrilling it is to become a published author. Holding final copies of each of my books represented a dream come true and I have to say that was no less true of the first one, as it was of the last one.

I coach a lot of people who are working towards becoming authors in their own right and it’s thrilling work for me. My Awakening Author Program is one of the ways I help people get traction on their dream of writing a book to support their business and here are some of the issues that the people I work with share – maybe these will sound familiar:

  1. Not enough time. The people I coach tend to be busy professionals with their own businesses and a ton of responsibility. They have family commitments, charitable interests, active social calendars and a desire to make the world a better place. Carving out the time to write a book is almost a luxury—and yet they know that it’s a critical piece in their process of creating the success they desire in the world. For themselves and others. I help my clients figure out how to do that.
  2. Not enough knowledge about the book writing process. My clients are experts in their fields and one of the reasons they want to write a book is to share their expertise. And, although my clients are all highly intelligent people, they still do need some guidance around the “how-to’s” of writing a book. They need some structure and some insights into how to do this efficiently and effectively. And I love guiding them to solutions that work well for them.
  3. Vulnerability. Even people who are successful, reputable, powerful, and effective still have areas where they feel a little “out of their element.” Book writing can often turn out to be one of them. Despite having generated great success with their businesses, my clients still benefit from some support around the challenges of writing a book and it is my privilege to provide that support.

There are a lot of other issues that crop up in the course of writing and we deal with them in the Awakening Author Program and, indeed, in my other book coaching programs, one by one, word by word.

The next session of the Awakening Author is starting soon and if you would like more information about whether this program would benefit you or someone you know, I invite you to book yourself in for a free consultation with me at www.meetme.so/susancrossman. I’d be glad to share what I know and give you the best advice I have to fine tune where you’re headed next with your book idea and how you, too, can turn that dream of becoming a published author into a reality.
